Brief profile

BSc Hons from Queen’s University of Belfast and PhD from University of Ulster. Research Associate at the University of Ulster (2002-04) before taking up current appointment as Lecturer in Molecular Biosciences at the University of Ulster in 2004. Patent holder and over 120 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences and was recipient of the highly-prestigious Eli-Lilly Basic Science Research Award in 2003, University of Ulster Distinguished Research Fellowship Award in 2005 and Diabetes UK Young Investigator Award in 2008. Plays an active role in Research Group publicity.
